A Closer Look Through A Different Lens
Gregory Turner is a New York based artist working in traditional and contemporary styles and mediums. From drawing, painting in oil, photography, videography/projections, printmaking, assemblage and sculpture. Gregory’s creative impulses are in constant explorative state, always incorporating new mediums and techniques.
Common themes in his work include a form of conceptual abstract expression, symbolism, and ietsism— exploring the micro and macro. His work often takes an intuitive approach, from the creation, to the perception and experience of the viewer.
Exploring pattern, color, pigment, composition, and its alchemical relationship with transmutation. Gregory’s fascination with the relationship of history and consciousness is paired with his artistic experimentation and ancient and modern influences. These concepts are translated through patterns, contemplation, mysteries, paradoxes, natural mathematical and conceptual realities.
Relating to an unseen world and its relationship to our own personal experience.
